The unit is entitled Building Bridges with Unlikely Friends. During this unit we will explore different types of literal and figurative bridges, and you will understand the difference between these two terms. We will be reading different texts independently, in small groups, and during whole group reading. These books will give you information on types of bridges as well as famous bridges and men who risked their lives to build them. You will also learn about making friends and the characteristics of a good friend. We will work on fluency by reading various poems on the subject of friendship, and implement comma usage through writing friendly letters.
